Dear Parents,

What a week at St John's! We have made some waves in the community this week with Year 2 leading a litter-pick alongside their visitor from the RSPCA, and also taking part in a peaceful protest against the suggestion of attending school at weekends. I have been very proud of the children and their behaviour when we have been out and about.

Our Wellspring singers did us very proud at Wells Cathedral last weekend - see the section below to hear their beautiful singing.

Thank you for your support on World Book Day. The children's hats were fabulous. You should have received a book token. This year, these can also be redeemed at Glastonbury Library.

Next week is Science Week. Mrs Brammer has organised a week of science activities, so don't forget to ask your children all about it after school. We are also bringing back the popular 'Science Selfie' competition from last year. Check ClassDojo for more information.

I hope you have a restful weekend,

Kerry Devane

Achievement

We are very proud of our eighteen Year 2 children who took part in the ‘Wellspring! The Way of the Water’ concert at Wells Cathedral last Saturday.

This was a series of musical pieces created for Millfield School, inspired by the natural springs of Wells and Glastonbury. Our children joined a choir of hundreds, including four other schools and local choirs from the area, and were the youngest performers in the concert. Their singing, dancing and behaviour blew us away. They were a real credit to St John’s.

The music has also been made into an album, which is on Spotify and Amazon Music. Please follow the links if you would like to hear it.

A huge well done to all the children involved and a massive thank you to the parents for supporting them.
