Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

There are poppies and poppy merchandise for sale in the school office if you would like to buy anything and contribute a voluntary contribution.

On Friday 10th November at 11am we will be holding a short remembrance service in the main playground in front of our Memorial plaque. The service will last for 5 mins and include a minute's silence. Parents and Carers are welcome to join us on the playground. Please arrive promptly at 10.45am.

On Sunday 12th November we will also be taking part in the Remembrance Sunday Parade, laying a wreath at the memorial in front of the church at 11am. It would be lovely to see as many of you there as possible. We will be meeting in the Abbey car park, I will let you know the time as soon as I know.

Have a lovely weekend.

Tips for Parents

Amazing opportunity for parents.....

Andy Leafe is the PFSA in Street. He will be running 'Tuning in to Kids’ which is free for three consecutive Wednesdays at 6:30pm – 8:00pm. The first session has passed, but you can still attend on Wednesday 1st November, 8th November & 15th November 2023. This will be at Hindhayes Infants School. Refreshments will be provided.

Tuning in to Kids is looking at how we, as parents, talk to our child or children. If children are encouraged not to dismiss their emotions or shut them out, if they are taught to put their feelings into words and empathise with others, then we are teaching them Emotional Intelligence. Emotional intelligence is so important because it helps create friendships, develop connections and builds resilience. All based on Dr. John Gotmann’s 5 steps to emotion coaching and Daniel Siegel’s hand model of the brain and the neuroscience behind how the brain works.

Please email Andy andy.leafe@hindhayes.co.uk or contact the school office if you are interested in attending.

School Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for loving us and teaching us how to love, persevere and respect each other in everything we do.

Amen
