Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you to everyone who attended our Harvest Service yesterday. Thank you also for your generous contributions which will be donated to Glastonbury Food banks. Well done to the Year 1 children and their teachers who led the service.

The dates for Parents' Evening have now been changed to the week beginning the 6th November. Teachers will be in touch, and you can either book a face-to-face meeting or a telephone call. This will be an opportunity for you to hear about how your child has settled in, their progress in learning and development and ways in which you can help them at home.

Enjoy the Autumn sunshine, it's the Wells Food Festival this Sunday. Maybe I will see you there.......

Thank you for your support,

Kerry Devane

All children at St Johns, from Reception to Year 2 are entitled to a free hot lunch at school. The menu changes after half term, so please could everyone ensure they click this link to order meals from 31st October onwards. If you intend to provide a packed lunch every day, it is useful if you still complete the form to indicate this.

Tips for Parents

RELATIONSHIPS - Quality Time

Last week, I talked about some of the things we would need in place to make any relationship successful. One of these was Quality Time.

It's a surprise for many parents to hear that 30 seconds to 2 minutes of QUALITY time, frequently throughout the day is better than less frequent, longer periods.

A day trip to Longleat or similar feels like it should provide an excellent opportunity for shared adventure and bonding. What parents often find, as they drive home with crying, tired, over-stimulated children, is that they're left feeling a bit under appreciated!

Time that's important to your relationship is time when your child approaches you to show you something or have a chat. When they do, stop what you're doing and share that quality time.

Dear God,

Thank you for loving us and teaching us how to love, persevere and respect each other in everything we do.

Amen
