Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

We are really looking forward to our Harvest Festival next week. The children have been learning songs to sing and Year One, who are leading the service, have been very busy preparing.

The Harvest service will be in the church and will start at 9am. If you would like to contribute to the Harvest collection for local food banks, please send your child in with a long-life product, ie a tin of soup, dried pasta etc

Please join us to give thanks to the farmers, food suppliers and food chain workers who give us food to eat every day.

Thank you for your support,

Kerry Devane

We have sent pupil data sheets home with every child, along with consent forms for the new school year. Please could you ensure you return those forms as soon as you can, to ensure we are all up to date.

Tips for Parents

Last week I introduced the idea of relationships in general, moving away for a moment from those tricky and value-laden words 'parenting' and 'behaviour'.

If we want any relationship to thrive, partner, friend, family, what does it need? It usually needs -

Time - good quality time (I'll talk about this next week)

Attention - positive attention that is focused on what's going well.

Communication - the ability to let the other person know how you're feeling and to be able to get your needs met appropriately, and the ability to 'actively listen' to them, so you understand what's going on for them and what they need.

Affection - lots of physical connection if wanted; kisses, cuddles, strokes, pats. Lots of non-physical if not; blow kisses, winks, thumbs up, high-fives.

Have a look at the quality of your closest relationships. What would make them even better?

Dear God,

Thank you for loving us and teaching us how to love, persevere and respect each other in everything we do.

Amen
