Message from the Head teacher

We have been marking 'Science week' in the school with Science lessons every afternoon with a focus on 'Connections'. In Year 1 the children were fascinated by their fingerprints, comparing them with their friends and identifying what type of fingerprints they have.

Now that the frost has gone it would be great to get some pots around the school planted up again. We would be very grateful of any donations of outdoor plants, particularly for the front of the school so that we can bring colour and nature to the playground. We are also looking to develop a herb garden so if you could bring in herb plants that would be great! If you could bring in your donations next week we will get the children planting and sprucing up the planters and grounds.

Have a great weekend,

Thank you for your support,

Kerry Devane

Parenting Tip

Healthy role models

Children learn a lot about their world and how to respond to it by watching others. What to do, how to manage situations and how to react when something happens, are all important skills that children can learn simply by watching and listening. So who are your child's influencers? In the early years, those influences will come from their family but, as children get older, those influences will extend more towards friends and people they see in media. If you notice a new behaviour, ask yourself where it is coming from, notice who is influencing your child and make sure what they are seeing is healthy and beneficial.

This week's composer of the week is Blues singer Joe Bonamassa. Joe was born in New York and started playing guitar at just 4 years old and formed his first band at twelve. An inspiration to us all. Joe plays an iconic crimson red guitar given to him by his Dad.
