Message from the Headteacher

What a fantastic week we have had including a fantastic 'World Book Day'. Thank you for all your amazing efforts. We all certainly learnt some new vocabulary. Remember rich texts are the best way for children to learn new words. Find below some recommended book lists for story time.

Book List

Can I please remind you that we discourage any toys being brought in from home, except for a soft toy for a comfort toy, as they could get lost or misplaced and lead to your child becoming distressed. Toys should also not be swapped or borrowed as this leads to lots of complications.

Parent/Carer Consultations will be held the week beginning 13th March. Please look out for more information from your class teachers. I would recommend that you all make an appointment to see your child's teacher as this offers insight into how your child is getting on at school both socially and academically.

Have a fab weekend,

Kerry Devane - Acting Headteacher

Parent Tip

Have you noticed that children seem to want to talk about their worries just before sleep time?  Tired parents, who just want five minutes peace before their own bedtime, might be tempted to dismiss this as just a ploy to delay sleep.

But every child needs opportunities to talk about their feelings, so how do we get this right?

Emotion Talk Time is a time for listening and reflecting their emotions. The time and setting should be appropriate to both of you, but bedtime seems a natural choice.

Adding five or ten minutes Talk Time to your child's bedtime routine puts you in a good space: calm and unhurried, and able to tune in to what your child is really saying.
