Message from the Headteacher

So we are now at the end of another half-term and we are halfway through the year. There are lots of exciting things going on next half-term including the Year 2 children taking a trip to Bristol to visit the SS Great Britain.https://www.ssgreatbritain.org/

Don't forget to drop into the hall on the first day back at 8.20am onwards for a slice of toast and a cup of tea and an opportunity to hear your child read. As well as this we are hoping parents will join us in the classrooms at 3pm on Tuesdays to hear your teachers read to the class.

Don't forget to look out for your children's names on the list of children receiving an achievement certificate. You can then join us in the hall on Monday mornings to find out what your shining stars have achieved.

Have a fantastic week, we will see you all on Monday 20th February for the start of an exciting new half-term.

Parenting Tip

As you are aware Internet Safety Day was on the 7th February. Here is a top tip to get you thinking about Online Safety with your child.

It is really important to chat with your children on an ongoing basis about staying safe online. Not sure where to begin? These conversation starter suggestions can help.

Ask your children to tell you about the sites they like to visit and what they enjoy doing online.

What games do you and your friends like to play online? Can you show me the websites you visit the most? Shall we play your favourite game online together?

Ask them about how they stay safe online.

What tips do they have for you, and where did they learn them? What is OK and not OK to share?

Ask them if they know where to go for help.

Where can they go to find the safety advice, privacy settings and how to report or block on the services they use?

Think about how you each use the Internet.

What more could you do to use the Internet together? Are there activities that you could enjoy as a family?
