Message from the Headteacher

Despite the wet weather the children have had a great week and the classes have been buzzing with new learning.

Thank you to the parents who attended the Phonics Workshop, with your help we can really make a difference to the progress your children make.

Can I please ask that when you are arriving and leaving the car parks you drive carefully and safely and are aware of pedestrians.

There will be times while your children are at our school that you may feel unhappy or worried about your child's experiences, their learning or another concern. Please do always talk to your Class teacher or me, and we can investigate and reassure you. If this does not result in you feeling reassured we do have a complaints procedure. See policy below. Your children's safety and happiness is really important to us.

Parenting Tip

The Winter months can be a tricky time for families, stuck inside on grey, wet or cold days. All over the world, Forest Schools are popping up that adhere to the saying “There is no bad weather, only bad clothes.”

This idea is simple–when kids are properly dressed, they can safely and joyfully explore the world outside. These schools hold classes outside all year round and simply ask that kids come dressed appropriately for the weather.

While I know every parent should win a Nobel Peace Prize for getting a 2-year-old dressed to go out in the snow, I’d encourage you, whenever possible, to still spend some time outside. Even when it’s cold or rainy, kids still find enjoyment splashing in puddles and making snow angels.

Attendance

Our target for attendance is 95%

This week it was 92.9%.

Top class this week is Woodpeckers with 98% - Amazing, Woodpeckers!

Top year group this week is Year 1 with 95.1% - Well done, year 1.

Composer/Artist of the week

This week's Artist of the week is Paul Klee.

Paul Klee (18 December 1879 – 29 June 1940) was a Swiss-German artist. He was one of the most famous painters of the 20th century. His work was influenced by Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. He was also very interested in the theory of colour.

Why not have a go at this activity at home. 'Taking a line for a walk'.
