Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

I felt incredibly proud of our Reception children this week who put on 2 wonderful Nativity performances. They sang beautifully and showed bags of confidence and pride in their performances. Thank you to all the adults in the Reception classes who helped the children with learning songs and costumes.

We are really looking forward to all the Christmas events next week it would be great to see as many of you as possible. To get into the Christmas spirit, we would like to encourage the children to wear Santa hats, Christmas headbands, Christmas jumpers, tinsel scarves. Especially for the Holy Thorn and the Christmas Carol concert. Please do not buy anything - just use bits you have at home already.

This will be the last of my newsletters for 2022, so I would like you to wish you all a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. I truly hope you have some magical moments over the holiday period.

I look forward to welcoming you all back in 2023!

Kerry Devane -Acting Headteacher

PTA News

Please look out for raffle tickets in your children's book bags today. There are some great prizes on offer including a £100 Morrison's voucher.

Please keep sending in your donations for the fair. We could do with some chocolate donations for the tombola and would welcome any new unwanted toys and gifts for our Eco present stall. Don't forget your homemade cakes and biscuits on Wednesday. If you are able to help we would be very grateful please let Mrs Devane or the office staff know.

Attendance

Our target for attendance is 95%

This week it was 86% we anticipate that this is because of all the nasty bugs going around. We hope this will improve in the new year.

The year with the highest % was Year 2 with  92% - well done, Year 2

The class with the highest % was Owls with 97% - EXCELLENT, Owls !

Parenting Tip

As we head into the Christmas season, despite its joys, stress can grow for busy parents.

These are my Top Five Tips - and I hope I'll stick to them myself one year!

1) Focus on what is important - that's YOU and your CHILDREN.

2) Drop high stress 'rituals' but stick to everyday routines, including bed times!

3) Say 'NO' - you can't do everything and be everywhere!

4) Be satisfied with 'good enough' - because you can only ever do your best and that is always good enough.

5) Delegate! - you are not the family maid-of-all-work! If they want it, get them to help.
