Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been another great week at St John's the children have continued to amaze me at how settled and happy they are.

We are beginning to plan events across the term for example the Harvest Festival and a Christmas Carol Service. It would be great to see as many of you at these events as possible, so please put the dates in your diary.

If you have any comments or feedback on the first few weeks please leave your  contributions using the following link. We really appreciate your views and opinions.

Parenting Tip

RELATIONSHIPS -

This week, I met a parent who wanted help with her child's behaviour at home. During our chat, it came out that she had been severely bullied in school and her adult relationships all followed a similar theme - she felt like her boundaries were always ignored, and that she didn't feel able to assert herself or expect her needs to be met to.

When we looked at the behaviour causing concern at home, we noticed that the behaviour she is struggling with in her child was very much like her difficulties with relationships in general. Have a look at this table. What's your relationship style? How does it impact on how your child responds to you?

Artist of the week

This week the children have been learning about the artist Kandinsky. He was one of the most important 20th-century artists. He was a major figure in modern art and painted some of the first modern abstract works. His art changed several times during his life. Maybe you could try some Kandinsky art activities at home and share them with us.

School Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for loving us and teaching us how to love, persevere and respect each other in everything we do.

Amen
