Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

This time of year is very busy in school please make sure you keep an eye on ClassDojo for dates so you don't miss anything.

Next week is our Summer fair after school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We would be very grateful for any contributions or help on the day please catch me or Gemma on the playground if you can help in any way. Any donations for raffle prizes would be amazing. Maybe you own a local business and could offer a voucher for the service you provide.

On Thursday we are also opening our doors to families and friends to look around our wonderful school. This will be from 3.30-4.30pm.

A reminder that Wednesday is a transition day. A day when all children will be with their new teacher for the day. We are currently in the process of redecorating Woodpeckers, so Rabbits will spend the day in their current classroom but with their new teachers.

Finally, Friday is Sport's day could children please come to school in their PE Kits ready to walk down to St Benedict's where the Year 6 children will lead the children in their teams. Your child's team will have a colour. If you have an item of clothing in that colour your child could wear it. I will publish the teams next week.

What a busy week we are going to have, I am exhausted just writing about it!

Have a great weekend,

Kerry Devane - Acting Headteacher

Parenting Tip

Attendance Matters - Every Minute, Every Lesson, Every day

You will start to see a big push on attendance as we move into the next academic year. The government has high expectations for parents, pupils and schools.

Help your child develop good daily habits as soon as possible. Habits like -
  • laying out clothes and the bag in the evening so everything is prepared
  • turning off electronics at least an hour before bedtime to increase the chance of a good sleep
  • having a regular bedtime for a good night's sleep
  • leaving early enough in the morning to get to school on time for the register and to hear the plan for the day ahead
