Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

We have been glad of the rain for our newly seeded grass on the paddock, but we are hoping it stays away next Tuesday for our school trip to the Seaside.

Please arrive on time on Tuesday at 8.40am as we will aim to leave at 9am. I have put the link to the letter below, so you can check all the details. If your child has suffered with travel sickness in the past please supply your child with the medicine they normally take in a named envelope for the return journey and administer the medicine prior to them getting on the coach. We will be walking on the pebbly beach, so please make sure your child is wearing the appropriate footwear.  We are very fortunate to have use of the Powerboat clubhouse for the day so will have our own base and toilets. The children are very excited for what we hope to be a wonderful way to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.

Have a great weekend!

Composer of the week

Pink Floyd were an English rock band that became famous in the 1960s and 1970s. They performed for more than 30 years, and have sold more than 200 million albums. They are famous for their live shows. Most of their albums are concept albums, which means every song is linked through a theme.

Parenting Tip

Self-esteem is such an important topic. Children who feel good about themselves have the confidence to try new things. They are more likely to try their best. They feel proud of what they can do. Self-esteem helps children cope with mistakes. It helps them try again, even if they fail at first. As a result, self-esteem helps children do better at school, at home, and with friends.

How can Parents help?
  • Encourage your child to learn new things.
  • Praise effort, not just success
  • Be a good role model - be proud of what you do, and try and do what you do cheerfully.
  • Ban harsh criticism
  • Focus on what your child does well and enjoys more than what they struggle with
  • Let children help and give - let them see that their contribution matters.
