Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back to you all. It has been nice to catch up with all the children after 2 weeks off.

The children had great fun at the beginning of the week unpacking their mystery suitcases as part of a 'Mystery History' project. The children used their detective skills to investigate who the suitcase belonged to.

We are all very excited to be making plans to start swimming again next week.  Swimming will be offered to all children either on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays.  Please check for information in the swimming letter that Mrs Denslow has sent to you all.

Finally, after 2 years of COVID disruptions it is so nice to be planning excursions both local and further afield to take us on some adventures this Summer.

Thank you as always for your support it really does make a difference and is greatly appreciated.

Kerry Devane - Acting Headteacher

Staffing News

Mrs Cullen in Hedgehogs class will be leaving us this year to pursue a different career path as an Early Years Inclusion Advisor, working for Somerset County Council.

Mrs Cullen has been with us for 15 years and is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, who has given so much in her role as a teacher as well as also leading Literacy and then Science across the school. Her child centred approach has had a huge impact on the children and families of our school. She will be sorely missed.

We would like to wish Mrs Cullen all the luck in the world on her new career path.

Congratulations to Rabbits Teacher Mrs Bentley who welcomed her little girl Maeva into the world on the 20th April, weighing 8lbs 2oz.

We can't wait to meet this little bundle of joy.

Composer of the Week

Queen!

This half-term we will be listening to and learning about Rock music, the children have really enjoyed listening and dancing in the corridors to Queen this week.

Queen are a British band that formed in 1970, they are a very successful band who have sold over 300 million records.

I am sure most of us have a favourite Queen song!

School Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for loving us and teaching us how to love, persevere and respect each other in everything we do.

Amen
