It’s been another busy and exciting week at St John’s!
We wanted to share a little reminder about how we celebrate birthdays in school.
A Birthday Book
When it’s your child’s birthday, we would love you to bring in a book for our school library instead of sweets or cake.
Your child’s special book will be shared with their class on or around their birthday, and we will add a special bookplate inside with their name and birthday date. This means their gift will become part of our school library and can be enjoyed by lots of children for years to come.
We have chosen books as a healthier alternative to sweets and cakes. We also have a number of dietary requirements and allergies across our classes, so choosing a book means that everyone can join in with our birthday celebrations safely and happily.
Birthday Dress-Up!
We also love making sure that the birthday child feels extra special on their big day.
On their birthday, children can choose something they would really like to wear to school. It might be their favourite football kit, a beautiful dress, a superhero outfit, or even a dinosaur costume!
There are no rules about what makes the perfect birthday outfit — it’s all about letting your child choose something that makes them smile and shows a little bit of who they are.
We hope these little birthday traditions help every child feel special, celebrated and valued as part of our St John’s family.
