Weekly News Update

Dear all,

It has been great to be part of the Oral Health Program this week. In Somerset, 20.9% of 5-year-old children experience visually obvious tooth decay, slightly lower than the 24% national average.  Data from 2024 shows 64,350 children in Somerset were not seen by an NHS dentist in the past year. I learnt something too. You don’t need to wet your toothbrush before brushing — it mostly comes down to comfort and habit. Dry brushing can clean just as well, and some dentists say it may help toothpaste stay more concentrated on your teeth. The important part is brushing for two minutes with toothpaste and spitting out the excess afterward.

We are very excited about our upcoming trip to Lyme Regis on the 19th of May. Please make sure you have completed your consent form on ParentPay.

Also, our Summer Fair will take place on the 22nd of May, and it’s not too late to book a stall!

The Summer Fair is also part of the future Mayor Zoe Price’s Naming Day celebrations, which we are honoured to host and be part of.

Have a lovely weekend when it comes.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Kerry Devane (Headteacher)
