Dear Parents/Carers,

What a busy day! This morning, we welcomed ITV News onto our school grounds to film a segment about the current heatwave and its impact on schools. Be sure to tune in tonight to catch the coverage!

Following the news crew's departure, we had a visit from our local MP, Sarah Dyke. She shared some of her proposals aimed at supporting our community and ensuring the high street remains a safe and vibrant space for everyone. We discussed the challenges we face as a school, but it was also a great opportunity to celebrate all the fantastic things happening here.

Meanwhile, our Year 2 children had a jam-packed day filled with creativity. They enjoyed a visit from an artist who guided them in making beautiful doves. Alongside this, they were busy tie-dyeing their leavers’ t-shirts, which looked absolutely brilliant.

On one of the hottest days of the year so far, it has certainly been a challenge to keep everyone safe, but I am incredibly proud of how the children have managed. A huge thank you to all the families who ensured their children had hats, water bottles, and sunscreen today — your support is invaluable in keeping our children safe and comfortable!

Stay safe and cool this weekend,

Kerry Devane
