Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

The children have been so supportive of our preparations for 'Glastonbury in Bloom'. I have spent most lunchtimes planting and watering with some very keen gardeners. This week we also helped plant some planters in St John's Square. This was thanks to sponsorship from Burns the Bread and support from the Town council. (See photo above) It makes the walk-up to school much more pleasant. Facebook Post

Congratulations to our fantastic School Choir who performed at Strode Theatre on Tuesday. Mrs Bentley did an amazing job of preparing our children to sing and perform. Our children were the youngest choir there.

This week, the children in Year 1 and some children in Year 2 have taken part in Phonics Screening. We will let you know the results when we get the pass mark. Thank you to all the children, their families and staff who have worked so hard to support children learn to read at home and at school.

We are making preparations for our Year 2 Leavers party. This will be on Tuesday 23rd July 5-7pm. The Leavers Church Service will be on the same day at 2pm in St John's Church.

Sadly, St Benedict's School has had to cancel Benfest tonight, due to the weather forecast. They will instead hold Benfest on Monday 17th from 4:30pm. We wish them a successful event - a great opportunity for our Year 2 leavers to see the school community in action.

Have a fantastic weekend

Thank you for your support,

Kerry Devane
