Message from the Headteacher

 Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a very busy frosty week. The children have been great at remembering to put their coats on and keep safe and warm.

Ms Appleton will be inviting groups of parents to Phonics Workshops this week on ClassDojo. Please look out for those invites. We are currently targeting certain groups, so you may not be invited this time. We have had a large Read Write Inc order delivered to the school which will boost our current resources and support children with their progress in reading.

Don't forget to come along to our 'Curriculum Afternoon' on Tuesday 30th January 2-3pm. You can collect your child from their classroom on the day and walk around the school looking to find out more about our curriculum. Children of parents who are unable to attend will be in the hall with me and should be collected from the hall on the day. You can also find out more about our curriculum on our website.

Tips for Parents

How much attention, does your child get, for behaviour you DON'T like happening?

It can be easy to stop noticing all the good things that go on in families. We might be quick to point out when a child is doing something wrong but fail to notice and praise when they are doing something right.

If this goes on too long, a child might learn that an easy way to get some attention is to annoy their sister or draw you into pointless arguments.

Professor Matt Saunders suggests making a particular effort to notice positive behaviour so that it increases. As you do this, where possible, plan to ignore minor irritations and see if those die out.
