Message from the Headteacher

I can barely believe that we are heading into July already. The Summer term has gone so quickly. Please try to keep on top of events planned, so your child doesn't miss out or feel left out.

Next week we have our Transfer day on Tuesday and Friday for Rabbits class. This is a very exciting but daunting time. All the children are moving up with their classmates. We have done this so the friendships and attachments they have made can remain stable. We have been exploring how change can be difficult and how they may have a nervous feeling in their tummy. We hope they all have a wonderful day in their class meeting their new teachers, especially our Year 2 children who are leaving us to go to Junior school. Please find some time to talk to your children to prepare them for the next part of their journey.

Parenting Tip

Attendance Matters - Every Minute, Every Lesson, Every day.

You will start to see a big push on attendance as we move into the next academic year. The government has high expectations for parents, pupils and schools.

Help your child develop good daily habits as soon as possible. Habits like -

  • laying out clothes and the bag in the evening so everything is prepared
  • turning off electronics at least an hour before bedtime to increase the chance of a good sleep
  • having a regular bedtime for a good night's sleep
  • leaving early enough in the morning to get to school on time for the register and to hear the plan for the day ahead
